I am pleased to announce a number of staffing changes that have or will be happening in the Office of Facilities
First, it is my pleasure to announce that Michelle Jones Ham has accepted the position of Facilities Energy Manager. In this role Michelle will be responsible for providing leadership in developing, implementing, and maintaining an Energy Management Plan for Ithaca College to ensure environmental conditions are coordinated with cost effective energy utilization. Michelle will start this position on June 28, 2010. She comes to us with a very strong background in overseeing energy conservation programs. Her work history includes jobs at IBM and NYSEG, to name a couple. I hope you join me in welcoming Michelle when she arrives on June 28.
As you may or may not be aware, Roger Casterline, Director for Grounds and Transportation recently retired after 37 years of outstanding service to Ithaca College. I will be conducting a search to fill that position and have asked Nick McCabe, Project Coordinator in the Grounds and Transportation area, to serve as Acting Director for Grounds and Transportation, effective immediately, until Roger's successor is picked. Nick has a long and productive career working in the grounds and transportation area and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the job.
I have also asked Steve Dayton, who has been my Director for Maintenance and Projects for the past year, to take on the role of Director for Planning Design & Construction that became open after Jeff Paddock's departure from Ithaca College at the end of May. This change is also effective immediately. Steve has over 20 years of construction and building experience prior to coming to Ithaca College. His first job at Ithaca College was as Project Coordinator in Planning Design and Construction. Steve knows the construction business and knows our campus and is committed to doing the best job possible.
I will be conducting a search to fill the Director of Maintenance position. Until that position is filled I will be supervising the maintenance area.
I am confident that these changes will allow us to better serve the Ithaca College community. Thanks for your support as we implement these changes and if you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
Thank you
