Dr. Mike Buck, Clinical Associate Professor from the Dept. of Physical Therapy; Dr. Amy Firth, Assistant Professor from the Dept. of Health Promotion & Physical Education; and Dr. James Pfrehm, Assistant Professor from the Department of Modern Languages & Literatures are presenting The "What/How/Why" of Learning via iTunes U: Three IC instructors’ perspectives at the 4th Annual SUNY Fredonia Teaching & Learning Conference.
Their presentation will focus on the Universal Design for Learning which is directed at enhancing the "classroom" for all learners by presenting information and content in different ways (the "what" of learning); differentiating the ways that students can express what they know (the "how" of learning); and stimulating interest and motivation for learning (the "why" of learning). They will also presnent how Faculty at Ithaca College have been utilizing podcasting and iTunesU to enhance and extend the classroom (the "what"), provide alternate methods for student demonstration of content mastery (the "how") and promote student interest through service learning (the "why").
