The Out of the Closet and Onto the Screen film series will host a free double-feature screening on Wednesday, September 1 in Textor 103:
“Overruled” at 7 pm
The courtroom drama behind the case that led the U.S. Supreme Court to strike down all remaining state sodomy laws and launched a new era in the LGBT rights movement.
and
“One Wedding and a Revolution” at 7:30 pm
In February 2004, the mayor of San Francisco ordered city officials to allow lesbian and gay couples to get married. Pioneering activists Del Martin and Phyllis Lyon, celebrating their 51st anniversary, had the privilege of being the first couple to tie the knot.

Sponsored by the Ithaca College Center for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) Education, Outreach, and Services, the film series this year will explore the theme "History and Heroes of the LGBT Movement."

The series will present a total of six films during the fall semester. Additional screenings will take place during the spring. All are free and open to the public. All showings begin at 7:00 p.m. and will be held in Textor 103. For a complete schedule visit the events section of the LGBT Center website or contact the LGBT Center for a fall film series postcard.
