Professors Mauk, Birr and Dunnick perform in Sydney, Australia

Troica, the trio founded by Steven Mauk (saxophone), Kim Dunnick (trumpet) and Diane Birr (piano), presented a recital in Verbruggen Hall at the Conservatorium of Music in Sydney, Australia on July 8th.  The trio was invited to perform as part of the 2010 International Trumpet Guild Conference.

During their program,Troica presented the premiere performance of Australian composer Margery Smith’s The Musarithmetic Ark, which was commissioned expressly for the event. Also featured on the program was Dana Wilson’sFanfare, written for Troica, and officially premiered at the conference.
