Consider joining a local contingent at IC to participate in The Educause Learning Initiative's 2010 Online Fall Focus Session on Blended Learning on Sept 15-16. "Blended learning" refers to using a combination of face-to-face and online instructional elements to help students achieve the learning objectives in their courses.
This online focus session has planned presentations and activities that help participants explore the potential of blended learning instructional models, student learning outcomes, and successful implementation practices. Graduate and Professional Studies, Information Technology Services, and the Center for Faculty Excellence are sponsoring a local event so members of the IC community can participate together along with others from all over the world. See the Educause Learning Initiative 2010 Fall Focus Session page for a description.
