Assistant Professor of Music Education, Drew Benware, recently performed as part of a week-long Cathedral Course Choir at Exeter Cathedral in Devon County, England.

During the first week of August, Prof. Benware participated in a program sponsored by England's Royal Society of Church Musicians (RSCM) in which auditioned singers from the United Kingdom and around the world convened in the city of Exeter to rehearse and perform sacred music of the Anglican tradition. Led by BBC Singers conductor David Hill, Benware joined musicians from England, Canada, Switzerland, Luxembourg, and the United States in performing a new and varied repertoire of pieces each day for church services and concerts. The venue for the music-making was the Exeter Cathedral, an ancient structure begun by the Normans in the year 1066. Music performed included pieces by Mozart, Bach, Nystedt, Howells, Sumption, and Stanford, among others.
