Interested in trying something different? Join the Fifes and Drums of Ithaca!
The Fifes and Drums of Ithaca meet once a week to rehearse Fife and Drum music from the American Revolutionary and Civil War eras. We perform several times a year in local parades and on campus, dressed in period uniforms, complete with tri-corner hats.
Musical experience is preferred, but is not a requirement to learn either the fife, snare drum, or bass drum. We need both fife players and drummers! Learning is fun and easy.
We are also in need of someone interested in marching at the front of our corps in parades, holding our banner. This a very low commitment - all we ask is that you be present for the performance and the previous rehearsal, and have an interest in marching with us!
Interested in joining, or just coming to see what we're all about? We rehearse Thursday nights at 8pm in the Whalen Center for Music, beginning September 9. Contact lmeyerh1@ithaca.edu for more details. We hope to see you there!
