The first Sustainability Café of the 2010-2011 season will be offered on Monday, September 13th at 4:00PM in the Ithaca College Center for Natural Sciences Room 112. Fernando de Aragón, director of the Ithaca-Tompkins County Transportation Council, will speak on "Environmental Opportunities in Transportation." This event is free and open to the public. The Fall 2010 Sustainability Café series is held in conjunction with the Environmental Seminar.
Fernando de Aragón is the Director of the Ithaca-Tompkins County Transportation Council, the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for the Ithaca urbanized area. Mr. de Aragón has been a transportation planner for close to twenty years and has been with the ITCTC since 1998. Mr. de Aragón earned his bachelor’s degree in natural resources management and masters in city and regional planning from Rutgers University and a doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners, the American Planning Association, and the Institute of Transportation Engineers. He also currently sits on the board of several community organizations including the Cayuga Lake Scenic Byway, Ithaca Carshare, and the Latino Civic Association.
