The IC Progressive Discourse Project is a new organization on campus striving to bring critical discussion on important world topics directly to the IC community. The aim is for students to create discourse on global issues and having those students' perspectives heard. And these are the two upcoming events below.

The IC PDP introductory event is Friday September 24th. At 5:00pm in the IC Square("The Pub") we will be having a public discussion on the the controversy and implications of the NYC mosque. There will be a panel answering questions and sharing their opinions from 3 different perspectives. The panel includes IC students, Professor Jason Freitag of the History Department and the visiting British Debate Team. This will be an interesting discussion on the dynamics of debate and on the way this particular controversy affects the nation and world. Come share your opinions and have your questions entered into the conversation one of two ways. You can submit your questions at the event or you can guarantee they will be answered by posting your question on the Facebook wall.

The 2nd event will be a screening of 2 short documentaries ("Filling Point" and "Journey to Naba") and immediately afterward a video conference with a panel of professionals and students at An Najah University in the West Bank and University of Pretoria in South Africa. We encourage as many people to attend as possible, but space we be limited to this free and public event. This event will be held on Wednesday September 29th at 2:00pm, location is TBD. (Location will be determined soon and can be found on our flyers or Facebook page).
