"It's Good To Be the King: A Mel Brooks Cabaret" will be iSing's first production of the 2010-2011 school year. Come and audition for an original cabaret written specifically to pay homage to the comedic brilliance of none other than Mel Brooks himself!
If you enjoy "The Producers," "Blazing Saddles," "Young Frankenstein," "Robin Hood: Men in Tights," or "History of the World: Part I," then your preparation is nearly halfway done! If you've never heard of Mel Brooks, get yourself on Google and YouTube this instant!
Auditions will be taking place on MONDAY, OCTOBER 4TH from 7-10 PM in WHALEN 2328.
Callbacks will be taking place on TUESDAY, OCTOBER 5TH from 7-10 PM in WHALEN 2328.
The tentative performance date is NOVEMBER 6TH.
For auditions, please prepare 16 to 32 bars of music to sing. The music can be from any genre of music, preferably musical theatre, but most importantly - sing something funny. This cabaret is going to be over-the-top and uproarious, so come to the audition relaxed and ready to laugh!
This production is going to be geared toward enjoying the comedy of Mel Brooks. We are looking for as many funny and willing people to join us on this project!
