IS THERE A NOVELIST IN YOU? Let IC NaNo unleash it.

Have you ever wanted to write a novel? In attempts to write one, have you become the artful master of procrastinating?

IC NaNo exists to help realize your dreams of becoming a novelist. And we're not here just for the Writing and English majors; students (and faculty!) from all walks of study and life are welcomed to sit their rears down and write a novel.

Except, there's a catch. (Of course there is, right?)

You'll be writing this novel with a definitive goal and deadline. The goal is 50,000 words (about the size of such classics as The Great Gatsby and Of Mice and Men). And the deadline? November 30th.

Did I mention you can only start writing on November 1st?

That's write -- a 50k word novel in just one month. Crazy, you say? Certainly. But then again, the world would be dull and dreary without a pinch of crazy here and there.

Based upon the National Novel Writing Month international phenomenon, IC NaNo will participate in the event officially while maintaining a silly, quirky, supportive group of those crazy dare-to-writers who want to join the ranks of novelists, whether or not they wish to join the published world.

Check IC NaNo out on IC Link, or poke in on the organization's blog.

Keep in touch; the first meeting will be in mid-October!
