It’s hard to believe that the time to select the 2011 First Year Reading Initiative (FYRI) is here. If you have suggestions for books you wish the Committee to consider please send these suggestions to Hillary Barrett at hbarrett@ithaca.edu
Many of you have expressed a desire to have the chosen book identified earlier than past years so, when appropriate, you can have the opportunity to incorporate the book into your fall semester syllabi and teaching materials. The plan for this year is to have the FYRI book selected before the beginning of the Spring 2011 semester.
If you wish to be considered for inclusion on this year’s FYRI selection committee, please send me an email (bhanna@ithaca.edu) on or before *_October 8, 2010._ *Faculty who have served as FYRI facilitators but who have not served on the FYRI selection committee are especially encouraged to volunteer to serve this year.
