Calling all Juniors: Peer Mentoring Opportunity: An (IC)2 project

10/22/10

Contributed by Michael Buck

Are you considering a career that would require you to design and/or deliver education or training?  Would you like the opportunity to gain real teaching experience in a real classroom here on campus?  We are looking for current juniors that would like to partner with an IC faculty member teaching in the Ithaca Seminar program.

The Peer Mentoring Program (IC)2 demonstration project will partner a current junior with an IC faculty member teaching an Ithaca Seminar course next fall.  The adventure begins by first completing a 2 credit course in the Spring 2011 semester designed to prepare you to become an effective peer mentor.  You will then work directly with your faculty partner in delivering 6 classroom educational experiences for students in the seminar course.  We are looking for students from all 5 schools, DIIS and the Honors program.  Are you who we are looking for?

Sound like the challenge that you have been looking for.......sound like something that would move you a step closer to your future career?

Please join us for an informational session on Monday October 25, 2010.  We will be meeting in the Taughannock Falls Room from 3:30-4:30 pm.  Please RSVP to Dr. James Pfrehm jpfrehm@ithaca.edu or Dr. Michael Buck  buck@ithaca.edu

If you would like more information but are unable to join us, please contact us via email requesting more information.
