We need  a few healthy individuals with the following characteristics:

over 60 years old, height between 5’1’’ and 5’9’’, waist measurement less than 36 inches, able to walk without assistive devices, no diseases/conditions that impair standing and walking (mild to moderate levels of osteoarthritis will be permitted), no surgery in the last three months.

Participants do NOT need to be IC employees, friends and family members who meet the above criteria are welcome.

The study involves comparing the effects of two methods for applying mild compression during standing balance measurements. Participation will take about 60-75 minutes. This investigation is being conducted by students and faculty of the Ithaca College Physical Therapy Department, in the Center for Health Sciences 4th floor research area, and has been approved by the IC Human Subjects Review Board.
