That’s right, it's Stigma Stomper week and you can show your support by wearing a Stigma Stomper button!

The goal of Stigma Stomper week is to change negative attitudes about counseling.  Every member of our community is encouraged to think: "Counseling...it's a smart and healthy thing to do."   Members of the Ithaca College community are encouraged to wear a Stigma Stomper button to show support for positive attitudes about counseling.  The visibility of the buttons provides opportunities to communicate, non-verbally, one’s support of counseling.  Hopefully, student will be less inhibited about seeking counseling services when they see the community supports doing so.

Be sure to pick up your free Stigma Stomper buttons from Active Minds in the Campus Center, Tuesday – Thursday, October 26-27, 2010.  Buttons can also be obtained from Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS).

Oh, and one last note.  The Stigma Stomper Button Spotter will be looking for students wearing their buttons on several occasions throughout the rest of the semester.  Rumor has it the Stigma Stomper Button Spotter will be looking to spot buttons Friday!  Get spotted and get rewarded for being a Stigma Stomper and helping to make our community safer!
