Wine and Cheese Reception for Kiran Nagarkar – Fulbright Visiting Scholar

Please join the Ithaca College Honors Program and the School of Humanities and Sciences for a reception welcoming Kiran Nagarkar, Fulbright Visiting Scholar in Honors, on Thursday, October 28, from 4:00 to 5:00 PM in the Clark Lounge.

 

Kiran Nagarkar is an important novelist, playwright, critic, and screenwriter. Writing in both Marathi and English, he is widely considered to be one of the most significant writers in postcolonial India. His novels include Six Sevens are Forty Three, Ravan and Eddie, Cuckold, and God’s Little Soldier. In addition, he has published highly regarded plays, screenplays, and works of criticism, a number of which have been the focus of heated political controversies. Mr Nagarkar has been awarded the subcontinent’s most prestigious literary prizes. While in residence to Ithaca College he will teach honors seminars on his novels and on Indian cinema.
