Interested in international issues?  If researching issues like energy & climate, Chinese/Russian/Middle East/South Asian studies, nonproliferation or the rule of law appeals to you, apply to be a Junior Fellow with the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.

Each year the endowment selects 8 to 10 graduating seniors (or alumni of less than one year who have not yet enrolled in graduate coursework) to serve as research assistants in Washington, D.C.  These are paid, full-time, one-year position with the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace Junior Fellows program.

Applications are due to the Office of Career Services by Monday, December 6, at 9:00 a.m. Ithaca College's nominating committee will select up to two candidates whose materials will then be submitted to the Carnegie Endowment for its selection and interview process.

To obtain the application, list of frequently asked questions and project descriptions, please visit the Office of Career Services. The application form and project descriptions may also be downloaded from our website.

A complete application includes:

  1. Application form (available in Career Services)
  2. Essay on why the student would like to become a junior fellow
  3. Resume
  4. Two recommendations
  5. Transcript of undergraduate record (unofficial is acceptable)
  6. Substantive essay as instructed for selected project
