Ithaca College will be conducting a test of its Outdoor Warning System on the afternoon of Thursday, November 18. Between 2:00 and 3:00 p.m., at least one set of siren tones will be activated, followed by a loudspeaker message noting that this is only a test. The tones and message may be repeated, depending on the results of the testing.
The Outdoor Warning System test will be conducted by technicians from Mid-State Communications in conjunction with the Ithaca College Office of Public Safety.
The college’s Emergency Notification System (ENS), which provides voice, text and e-mail messages in the event of an emergency, will not be part of this particular test. Members of the campus community are urged to sign up for the ENS or to update their existing contact information by going to https://www.ithaca.edu/emergencynotification and logging into the system using their Ithaca College Netpass username and password.
