Charlotte Hyman, Class of 2011, made it as a finalist for the PRWeek Student of the Year Award that is sponsored by Hill & Knowlton. She will be one of five nationwide finalists who will be presenting their PR proposals and responding to a crisis communications scenario to eight judges in New York City on January 25.
As part one of the competition, Charlotte submitted an innovative public relations proposal for SanDisk's flash memory cards in early December. Professor Arhlene Flowers was the faculty adviser for this independent project as part of her Public Relations Lab class.
Charlotte said, "I was thrilled to make it to the final round. I'm very excited about sharing my creative ideas in helping SanDisk reach a new target market. I'd also be honored to work for such a prestigious public relations firm as Hill & Knowlton."
The winner receives a $5,000 cash prize, a paid internship at Hill & Knowlton, and a paid trip to the PRWeek Awards in New York City in March 2011. The runner-up is granted a $1,000 cash prize, a paid internship, and a trip to New York for the awards ceremony.
