Take your friends seriously when they causally express suicidal thoughts.

Students tell their friends when they are in distress much more often than they tell a mental health professional.

Be prepared to respond in a manner that diminishes your worry and increases the likelihood your friend will get help by attending a Pathways training.

Pathways is a 90 minute crisis intervention and suicide prevention training led by members of Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS).  The goal of Pathways is to reduce the incidence of crises by building knowledge, confidence and skills to help you:

When asked about the relevance of the training, one student responded: “It is very relevant and helpful for me, and I’m glad to be better prepared in the future.”

Training dates for students this semester are:

February 2nd,

February 17th

March 2nd

April 20th

Seating is limited; sign up for sessions through the Student Leadership Institute
