Extensive news film and personal recollections are used in this documentary on Milk’s life leading up to his election as the first openly gay member of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, his successful efforts to politically represent the city’s gay community and the reaction to his 1978 assassination by former fellow supervisor Dan White.
Sponsored by the Ithaca College Center for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) Education, Outreach, and Services, the film series this year explores the theme "History and Heroes of the LGBT Movement."
