The Central Winds, a music educators' Wind Ensemble, has been in existence since 1984. Made up entirely of music teachers and professionals from the central New York area, the group's commitment to excellence has led them to performances at the New York State School Music Association Winter Conference, the New York State Band Directors' Conference, and most recently, the prestigious Midwest Clinic in Chicago.
The group's guest conductors have included Stephen Peterson, Charles Pelz, Mark Scatterday, and Donald Hunsberger.
The conductors for this concert are Andrew Perry from West Genesee High School and James Tapia from Syracuse University. The program will include major works by David Maslanka and Paul Hindemith. Please join us in Ford Hall on February 16 at 7:00 p.m.
