¿Hablas español?  Are you considering going abroad to a Spanish-speaking country? Are you looking for a place to live where you can share your heritage with others? Do you enjoy meeting culturally diverse people? If you've answered "sí" to any of these questions, then the Vecinos learning community is the place for you!

Vecinos applications are currently available via HomerConnect and are due on March 7th.

Vecinos is located on the first floor of Terrace 7 and has become a “home away from home” for Spanish language enthusiasts and Latino students on campus. Residents enjoy a close-knit community and regularly hold Film Nights, Cooking Programs, Spanish Karaoke, and dine together in the Terrace dining Hall.

Many Vecinos residents are involved in student organizations, such as PODER, IC Teatro, ALS, IC Muévete, Intercambios, Spit That!, and truly enjoy speaking Spanish and sharing in diverse identities and cultures.

This past fall, Vecinos residents celebrated Latino Heritage Month and attended and participated in events such as: the Latino Identity panel, the screening of the documentary "AbUSed: The Postville Raid," the performance of Luis Valdez’ play “I Don’t Have to Show You No Stinking Badges!” and readings by Latina authors Julia Alvarez and Helena María Viramontes. We recently took a day trip to Rochester to see the musical In the Heights.
