Bobby Seale will be delivering a keynote entitled, "From the Sixties to the Future" in Emerson Suites @ 6:00 pm this Friday, February 25 for ALS's final event in celebration of Black History Month.

In 1966, Seale and fellow African-American activist Huey Newton founded the Black Panther Party for Self-Defense in Oakland, California, in response to complaints of police brutality. Through the use of community outreach, including free breakfast programs for children, “liberation schools” for political education and rallying for Black control of community institutions, the Black Panthers grew to become a nationwide movement that still resonates throughout the the world as one of the most influential Black Power movements in history.
