Daniel Kelly, assistant professor of trumpet, Texas A&M University - Commerce, wrote the review based on the Troica CD, Music for Trumpet, Saxophone, and Piano.  Troica is made up of School of Music faculty members Kim Dunnick (trumpet), Steve Mauk (Saxophone), and Diane Birr (piano).

Excerpts from the review:

"Trocia, a trio of Ithaca College faculty, offers a varied and enjoyable collection of works for also saxophone, trumpet and piano.  The works presented here run the gamut from pensive to humorous to aggressive, all performed with great style and vivaciousness.  Peter Lawrence's Concertino, originally scored for two trumpets and piano, has been reworked for Troica by the composer, substituting the alto saxophone for the original second trumpet/flugelhorn part.  This energetic work effectively blends elements of Baroque and jazz music in a manner reminiscent of Bolling's Toot Suite, and the result is a fine showpiece for all three performers."

"The performers highlight their individual talents to great effect while maintaining a cohesive, well-balanced ensemble."
