The Ithaca College Jazz Department is hosting fantastic guest artists next week, Chris Jentsch and Mike Kaupa, for several great events!
Sunday, March 6 at 8:15PM, Ford Hall: The IC Jazz Ensemble will perform Chris Jentsch's "Cycles Suite" along with the composer on guitar, and also featuring trumpet soloist Mike Kaupa.
Monday, March 7 at 10AM in Presser: Chris Jentsch will give a workshop on jazz improvisation, how to learn tunes, recording sessions, and other jazz topics. Students from the Jazz Repertoire class will play. He will also discuss his original tunes, which you can study via the lead sheets downloadable here:

Monday, March 7 at Noon in room 1103: Chris Jentsch will present the 5th movement of the Cycles Suite ("Route 666") to the Jazz Arranging II class. For anyone who wants to attend, Chris has made this movement is available for download on his website:

Tuesday, March 8th at 10AM: Chris Jentsch will speak to the Jazz Theory I class in room 2330 about some of his small-group compositions and lead sheets. All the lead sheets he will be discussing in this class in the link below:
