The City of Ithaca has asked that the following notice be posted:

On Thursday, March 31, 2011, the Department of Public Works will begin street cleaning operations in the South Hill area of the City. Students who park on the street should watch for street signs and check on their cars daily from March 31 - April 5, 2011. If you will be away during this time, please make other parking arrangements for your vehicle.

People in need of long term parking arrangements can call the City Chamberlain's Office at (607) 274-6580 to inquire about the availability of long-term parking permits in the parking garages.

Streets will be posted as "No Parking Zones" 24-hours in advance of the cleaning. All vehicles that remain on the street after 7:00 a.m. will be ticketed and towed at the owner's expense. The standard rate for tow-aways in the City of Ithaca is $100 plus sales tax, and storage fees are $25 per day.

The full schedule of the street cleaning program can be found on the City’s website. Go to www.cityofithaca.org, click on the “News” link, then click on the "Street Cleaning is Underway" link.

Please note: this work is weather permitting and may need to be re-scheduled in case of inclement weather.

Questions or concerns about this program can be forwarded to the Streets and Facilities Office at 272-1718.
