April is Act! Speak! Build! Month with Habitat for Humanity!

Act! Speak! Build! Month is a month-long advocacy campaign from Ithaca College Habitat for Humanity. We aim to heighten awareness about homelessness, affordable housing issues, and how organizations like Habitat can help. Our advocacy is about addressing the policies, systems and attitudes in place that maintain the prevalence of substandard housing in the United States and beyond. Come join us for five great events!

Kick off Act! Speak! Build! at our weekly Habitat meeting!
Meeting, 4:00-4:30pm - Taughannock Falls Room 

>>> Monday, April 4
"Living Broke in Boom Times: Lessons from the Movement to End Poverty"
Film Screening, 7:00-8:30pm - Textor 102
(Also featuring a screening of "City Limits," a brief documentary by Ithaca College students Rebecca Coffman '12 and Andrea Bichan '11 about the local affordable housing crisis)

Mark Horvath, founder of InvisiblePeople.tv, presents on homelessness advocacy and social media activism
Keynote Speaker, 5:30-7:30pm - Textor 101

Post-Graduate Routes to Service Learning and Community Building
Featuring representatives from Teach for America, AmeriCorps, Peace Corps and City Year for undergraduate students
Career Fair, 12:00-2:00pm - Klingenstein Lounge
