I’d like to offer a brief thanks to everyone who contributed to the preparation and execution of the largest and most successful NCUR conference in history.
We had standing room only at many of the student presentations on Thursday and Friday, as the blue water bottles with the NCUR logo and the "chico" bags with the IC logo became ubiquitous across the campus. The values and behaviors that make Ithaca College special were on display everywhere, such as in the composting that enabled us to reduce solid waste generated at conferences to a small fraction of its typical amount.
To everyone who spent the last two years planning this conference down to the last detail and contingency – well done! To everyone in Facilities, where it was “all hands on deck” – you made it happen! To everyone at Conference and Events Services – beautifully done! To those faculty who reviewed proposals and moderated panels – thank you! To those students who sang and made music and danced and created thought-provoking dramatic experiences – you are amazing! To all the IC student volunteers and everyone else on campus who guided, set up, moved things around, gave directions, assisted, attended, gave encouragement, and offered a friendly smile – thank you for showing who we are at Ithaca College to 3,000 students and faculty mentors from every state and several other countries!
