The Ithaca College Office of Information Technology Services, the Ithaca College Office of Facilities' Energy Manager, and the Sustainability at Ithaca program are partnering with Action Research Inc., a researcher from SUNY Plattburgh, and the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) to conduct a research project in our campus computer labs to determine the most effective strategies to motivate users to turn off their computers and monitors before leaving the computer lab.

Over the next few weeks, we invite users of the ITS computer labs to participate in this simple research project. Just follow the simple directions you see posted on computer equipment in the computer labs. Please note that individual students using the computer lab will never be identified; only the condition of the computer equipment (whether it is on/off after use) will be evaluated. We appreciate your cooperation for this research study.

For more information about this research study, please contact Michelle Jones, Energy Manager (mjones@ithaca.edu) or Marian Brown, Special Assistant to the Provost for Sustainability (mbrown@Ithaca.edu).
