On Thursday, May 5th at 12:10PM in Park Center for Business Room 204, environmental studies student Lauren Goldberg ’13 will present the findings and recommendations from her semester-long research project in “Environmental Science and Technology” on the feasibility of covered bike shelters on campus.
Lauren will demonstrate how covered bike shelters – potentially with integrated renewable energy technology –support both the College’s Master Plan and Climate Action Plan goals. During her presentation,"Bike Shelter Project: Promoting Green Energy and Green Transportation," Lauren will present several possible designs for such bike shelters as well as offering suggestions for possible campus locations. Lauren will seek feedback on and ideas about her concept from the audience; her goal is to prepare a formal proposal for the Ithaca College administration.
Lauren is seeking additional partners to continue to pursue making this concept a reality, perhaps even integrating it with bike-sharing programs in the future. If interested, contact Lauren.
This presentation is free and open to the public.
Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodation are asked to contact Marian Brown at mbrown@ithaca.edu or 274-3787 as soon as possible.
