From the popular, long-running NPR series This I Believe, this is a compilation of original essays on one of the most fundamental of human relationships: fatherhood. In fall 2009, Professor Pfrehm taught an Ithaca Seminar, in which the students read dozens of essays from the first This I Believe book, and wrote and presented their own essays as part of their final grade. At the encouragement of his students, Professor Pfrehm wrote his own essay and presented it to the class as well. Based on the feedback he received from them, he reworked the essay and submitted it online to NPR, as did his students with their essays.
This I Believe: On Fatherhood can be purchased online, and will be in book stores in early May. All proceeds from sales go to supporting National Public Radio.
