Questen Benjamin ‘12, Erin Smith ‘14, and Lindsey Smith ‘14 will attend the 2011 National Conference for College Women Student Leaders June 2–4. Hosted by the American Association of University Women (AAUW) and NASPA–Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education. The conference offers women students the opportunity to gain real-world lessons during a fast-paced, three-day event focused on enhancing student leadership.
All three of these Ithaca College students will be Student Leadership Consultants in the Office of Student Engagement and Multicultural Affairs (OSEMA) next year, so this experience will enhance their skills to organize leadership activities for students on campus. Benjamin, Smith and Smith’s conference registration fees are funded by a generous donation from President emerita Peggy R. Williams.
Since 1985, the National Conference for College Women Student Leaders has provided a platform to help thousands of college and university women develop leadership skills, network with other student leaders, and interact with women who hold leadership positions. This year’s conference will feature internationally known speakers, the star-studded Women of Distinction Awards Ceremony, and dynamic workshops. Now in its 26th year, the conference is expected to draw more than 500 campus leaders to the University of Maryland, College Park.
