Angus Godwin is still an active solo recitalist, although his main focus is now on teaching. His students have accomplished many successes and perform as members of the The Metropolitan Opera, regional opera companies such as Dallas Opera, in leading Broadway Production roles such as Titanic, Wicked, and Phantom of the Opera. He also taught Aaron Kelly, a recent semi-finalist on American Idol.
In teaching, his focus is on developing the individual voice so that the singer should be able to sing for hours without tiring. Teaching each student to sing for long periods, without stress or strain, is his objective and he demonstrates that with proper technique, one should be able to sing with ease and freedom beyond the age of 80.
