Our new students will arrive on Sunday, August 28, 2011.
When new students arrive at Ithaca College, they become part of a much larger community. As members of this community, we have the chance to welcome them with enthusiasm and Bomber pride! We want to introduce our new students to the terrific community they’re joining, so we’re asking faculty, staff, alumni, and current students to help.
We are seeking 70 - 75 faculty and staff, who do not already have responsibilities on move-in day, to volunteer to assist new students and their parents with the move-in process. They will join the 130+ student volunteers to help carry items to residence hall rooms, answer questions, and generally provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
A short training meeting will be held directly following the August 25th All College Meeting (apx. 11 am), during which you'll receive your volunteer area assignment, and a "cheat sheet" to help you answer questions that new students or parents may have.
By following the link below, volunteers can indicate the shift(s) they will work, as well as a preference for location. The shifts are two hours long: 9am – 11am; 11am – 1pm; 1pm – 3pm; 3pm – 5pm. You will need to arrive at a check-in location 15 minutes prior to your shift, where you will be given your FREE volunteer t-shirt.
Please help us provide a warm welcome to the Ithaca College community for our new students and their families!
