Susan Waterbury, Associate Professor of Violin and Chamber Music, was a Guest Artist at the Castleman Quartet Program in Fredonia, NY in late June, coaching college age string players from music schools all over the country in the art and craft of playing string quartets. Waterbury has been playing in a string quartet and other chamber music groups her entire career.
The Castleman Quartet Program, a long-standing summer music program founded by Charles Castleman, Violin Professor at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY and Heidi Castleman, Viola Professor at the Juilliard School of Music in New York, NY is one of the leading summer programs for the training of college age string players in the art of chamber music, and the art and craft of string quartet playing, specifically.
Waterbury has been a guest string quartet coach (and violin teacher) many summers over the past ten years.
