ALL students are eligible to audition to play in the pit orchestras for musicals at IC. Students may receive 0-2 variable credits through the course Musical Theater Rehearsal and Performance. Guitarists and String players are much needed for this year's productions "Light in the Piazza" (fall) and "Working" (spring). Other instruments needed this year include harp, clarinet, oboe, bassoon, flute, drums, and piano/keyboard.

Music majors or any students auditioning for major ensembles in the School of Music can simply fill out the pit orchestra form available at major ensemble auditions during the first week of classes. Those not doing a School of Music ensemble audition should contact Brian DeMaris (Director of Opera and Musical Theater) at bdemaris@ithaca.edu.

Pit orchestras rehearse from 5-7pm on Fridays for six weeks during the semester. Technical rehearsals and performances occur evenings and weekends. A detailed schedule for each production can be found outside Whalen studio 2306 or obtained at the audition.
