NOMINATION DEADLINE EXTENDED: Nominate a student to receive the YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE award at the ALANA Academic Achievement Awards Banquet!

This prestigious award will be presented on Saturday evening, October 1, 2011 at the ALANA Academic Achievement Awards Banquet at 6pm in Emerson Suites.
Submit your recommendation to aes@ithaca.edu by THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 15th, 2011.
Include a list of the nominee's activities and a brief letter of nomination. Graduate students are eligible. AWARDEE will be given a prestigious trophy at the banquet and a $100 book award for the Ithaca College bookstore at the beginning of Spring 2012.
YOU CAN NOMINATE YOURSELF!!! In any case, incomplete nominations will not be considered. See the criteria listed below.
- Nominees MUST have a documented record of fostering a welcoming environment for underrepresented communities at Ithaca College.
- Nominees MUST have served in a leadership capacity in a student organization that focuses on ALANA students for a period of at least 1 year.
- Nominees MUSTpresent acceptable academic credentials to be eligible for the award. Needs to befull time and in good academic standing as of the end of academic year 2010/2011; and currently slated to be a full time student at Ithaca College during academic year 2011/2012.
- Nominees MAY have participated in undergraduate research activities that focus on ALANA concerns; or they may have presented at or attended local, regional, or national conferences that focus on ALANA professional practice.
- Nominees MAY have artistic abilities that celebrate ALANA culture.
- Nominees MAY have been engaged in regular community service activities that benefit ALANA communities.
- Nominees MAY have served in the capacity of an ALANA peer mentor of some form in the Ithaca community.
