The Figure
an exhibition by the Midwest Paint Group and guests
September 8–October 16, 2011
The Handwerker Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of “The Figure,” a traveling exhibition curated by Bob Brock, on Wednesday, September 7.
The Figure, organized by the Midwest Paint Group, offers contemporary explorations of what is considered to be a traditional, representational art form.
A catalog with an essay by Wall Street Journal critic Lance Esplund accompanies the exhibition and can be purchased at the Gallery. Exhibiting artist Glen Cebulash will deliver a talk entitled “Thoughts on Painting” in the Gallery as part of our Thursdays at the Handwerker series on October 6 at 6:00 p.m.
An opening reception will be held on Thursday, September 8 from 5.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m., and the exhibition will remain on display through October 16. All Handwerker Gallery events are free and open to the public.
