Ithaca College’s Medical Amnesty Policy (IC MAP) encourages students to seek medical assistance related to drug and alcohol use without worrying about college judicial consequences. If you are concerned for a friend who passes out (or experiences another medical difficulty) from drugs and/or alcohol, be sure to get them help ASAP. The student who receives medical assistance - and the student who called for help- will NOT be sanctioned through the college judicial system, if the following apply:

• The case has been approved for amnesty by the Office of Judicial Affairs.
• No other conduct violations were committed by the student during the same incident.
• The student completes a required educational follow-up in a timely manner.

Remember, an unconscious intoxicated individual will typically only get worse since alcohol is gradually absorbed into the blood stream. YOU may be in a position to help save your friend's life!
