The New York State Music Teachers Association is pleased to invite you to their annual state Conference, held this year on the beautiful campus of Ithaca College, October 21-23.  The Association's conference committee, with the invaluable leadership of Dr. Diane Birr, Ithaca College School of Music Professor, has been working hard planning the workshops, competitions, seminars, master classes, performances and social events for the weekend. They are pleased that Dr. Benjamin Caton, the President of the MTNA, will attend the Conference, in honor of NYSMTA's 50th anniversary.

The NYSMTA 50th anniversary is certainly a cause for celebration! Plans are underway for acknowledging their history and a significant display of items related to our activities during the past half century will be on view that weekend. Many past-presidents of NYSMTA will be in attendance to share and reminiscence with attendees.

NYSMTA is honored to present pianist Jennifer Hayghe as the 2011 Conference Artist at the state Conference on Saturday, October 22.  Dr. Hayghe is currently an Associate Professor of Piano at Ithaca College.

Ithaca College faculty and students are welcome and encouraged to attend.  Attendance will be free of charge for this group, but registration is required.  Please contact Diane Birr with any questions.

For additional information and a full schedule of events, please visit www.nysmta.org or look for them on Facebook or Twitter (www.facebook.com/NYSMTA, twitter @NYSMTA)
