Managing and Recruiting Volunteers at Ithaca College

10/16/11

Join us on Wednesday, October 26 at 4pm in Friends 207! Don Austin will be presenting on how to effectively recruit and manage volunteers.

Many student organizations at Ithaca College utilize volunteer service in some capacity. However, the details of volunteer management are often overlooked or undervalued as an important field of information to track.

This session will examine best practices for recruiting volunteers, managing their time, and recognizing volunteer efforts on a consistent basis. Being better prepared to manage volunteers will help many student leaders to fulfill their group's objectives more effectively. Participants in this session will leave with knowledge of the "Three Rs" of volunteer management: recruitment, retention, and recognition.
