The Ithaca College chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America has teamed up with the American Marketing Association to bring the Intern Queen to Ithaca’s campus on November 8th at 12:05 pm in Textor 102. Admission to the event is free, however, seating is limited and tickets will be distributed on a first come first serve basis through tabling in campus center, which will begin the week of October 24th. Members of PRSSA and AMA are encouraged to get tickets at their club meetings. The Intern Queen, Lauren Berger, will present “Everything Internships”, sharing her story as well as advice on finding, applying to, and making the most of an internship.
Lauren Berger is the CEO of Intern Queen Inc., “an online internship destination that helps students find and apply for internships while also educating them on how to make the most of their experiences”. Berger dubbed herself the Intern Queen after completing 15 internships during her 4 years of college at the University of Central Florida. She interned for several well-known organizations such as MTV, BWR Public Relations, and NBC. Berger began the Intern Queen not long after graduation and today she collaborates with over 500 organizations and reaches over 40,000 people every month.
PRSSA and AMA would like to thank SGA for providing funding for the event. They have worked hard to bring this idea to life and hope students are able to gain insight into the importance of the internship experience.
