Join ICES (the Ithaca College Environmental Society), REMP (the Resource and Environmental Management Program), and Ithaca Dining Services for Campus Sustainbility Day, a day to learn about how you can help make Ithaca College a more sustainable campus and practice a more environmentally conscious lifestyle. We will be out on the academic quad (in front of the library) from 11am - 3pm. Stop by and learn what you can do to reduce your environmental impact!
The schedule/display includes:
- All day : Single stream recycling display - learn what is recyclable and what "single stream" even means (presented by IC Eco-Reps)
- 11am - 12pm : Alternative transportation talk - learn how practical and easy it is to get around by biking, walking, longboarding, rollerblading, or busing (presented by ICES)
- 11am - 1:30pm : Ithaca CarShare - learn why you don't need a car in Ithaca
- 11am - 1pm : Composting demo - learn all about compost, what is compostable, why you should compost, and how you can compost at home (presented by Ithaca Dining Services)
- 12 - 1pm : Talk/demo of Swidjit, a new online network for sharing of community needs and resources (presented by Swidjit founder Alex Colket)
- 1 - 1:15pm : Basic bike repair/maintenance workshop (presented by Michael Smith)
- 1 - 3pm : Bomber Bikes Initiative, a project working to bring a bike shelter and bike share to IC's campus
- 5pm : Screening of "Black Gold," a documentary on coffee and fair trade, in Textor 101
