The Center for the Study of Culture, Race, and Ethnicity (CSCRE) will be hosting a panel discussion on “Malcolm X: A Life of Reinvention,” biography, by Manning Marable.
The center is delighted to have Dr. Jared Ball, an assistant professor of communication studies at Morgan State University, as a panelist. Dr. Ball received his Ph.D. in Journalism and Media Studies from the University of Maryland at College Park, his M.P.S. in Africana Studies from Cornell University and his B.S. in History from Frostburg State University.
Our other panelist will be Dr. Sean Eversley Bradwell, an assistant professor at Ithaca College. Dr. Bradwell serves as the co-coordinator for the African Diaspora Studies minor at CSCRE. He received a B.A. in political science from the University of Rochester, an M.S. in education from Rochester’s Margaret Warner Graduate School of Education and Human Development, and a Ph.D. in policy analysis and management from Cornell University.
The evening will include remarks from Dr. James Turner, founder of the Africana Studies and Research Center--founded 1969--and a professor emeritus of African and African American Politics and Social Policy at Cornell. Turner holds a B.S. from Central Michigan University, an M.A. from Northwestern University, a certificate in African Studies from Northwestern's African Studies Center, and a Ph.D. from the Union Graduate School in Cincinnati.
The event, "Malcolm X's Biography: A Panel Discussion", takes place on Tuesday, November 15, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m., in Emerson Suite B.
