Michael Smith, Associate Professor of History and Environmental Studies and Sciences, co-led a roundtable with Randy Bass (Georgetown University) and David Pace (Indiana University) at the International Society for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, in Milwaukee, WI, October 21, 2011.
“Disciplinary Thinking in Intermediate Spaces: Digital Tools and Inquiries into the Structure of Student Thought” examined the role of new digital tools in the scholarship of teaching and learning. Smith's contribution was based on his NEH-funded work with Ali Erkan, Associate Professor of Computer Science, "Untangling the Web of Historical Thinking."
