This Thursday, November 10th, John Dau, a refugee from Sudan is coming to speak at Ithaca College.  The event starts at 7pm in Textor 102 and is free for all to attend.  Please come and show your support for the anti-genocide movement and the John Dau Foundation.

In 1987, John Dau began a journey of more than 1,000 miles from his village of Duk County, Sudan to a refugee camp in Kenya in order escape Sudanese government troops.

In 2001, 14 years after he was displaced, he was selected along with 140 others to leave Sudan for the United States. Collectively, this group became known as the "Lost Boys of Sudan."

John Dau was the subject of the award-winning 2006 documentary God Grew Tired of Us, and he is the author of a memoir of the same title.

Dau is a human rights activist, a powerful speaker, and an inspirational leader. He founded the John Dau Foundation, which provides healthcare in the war-torn region of South Sudan by building and sustaining medical clinics and training community health workers.
