Native American Month Continues! Don't miss Charlie Hill (Oneida) Wed. Nov. 9th at 8pm in IC Square (Phillips Student Union) and the film Bright Circle about the role of Native Americans in football and how the dark history of the Indian boarding schools led to some of the best Native athletes of the 20th century. Film presentation and discussion Monday Nov. 14th at 7pm in Textor 103.

At the turn of the 20th Century Native American Indian athletes were at the forefront of the sporting world. Early Native American participation and achievement in athletics, most notably football, was indirectly facilitated through the vision of Lt. Richard Pratt, founder of the Carlisle Indian Boarding School where Jim Thorpe attended. This rich tradition established in the past by athletes such Thorpe is carried on today by the descendants of those incredible athletes. http://www.brightcircle.org/
