Did you know that CCCS offers an abundance of services such as Credit Counseling, Debt Management Programs, Mortgage Default and Foreclosure Mitigation Counseling, Reverse Mortgage Counseling, Bankruptcy Counseling and Education, Pre-Purchase and Post-Homebuyer Counseling, Rental Counseling, and Personal Finance Education?

The most common service used is the Budget and Credit Counseling. During a credit counseling session, you and your credit counselor will develop a plan that will address your household budget, debt, creditors, and savings. Your counselor conducts a review of your financial situation and discusses your financial goals. These appointments typically last an hour. To get a clearer picture of your situation, with your permission, your counselor will also run your credit report.

Develop a list of your monthly expenses and income before the credit counseling session. This will provide you with more time ask questions and discuss options with your counselor.

CCCS also has other resources for you to use on their website. Click here to use their calculators to help you with such things as building your own personal budget, take a financial health quiz, check your debt to income ratio and more. There are an abundance of articles to help you with a variety of different topics such as bankruptcy, budget and credit counseling, housing and more. Want more information? CCCS offers a library of blogs to view dating back to 2010.
