What?! All the trash cans and recycle bins have been removed! Why?! It’s the new Carry-In/ Carry-Out campaign!
The School of Business has custom made CRT (Compost/Recycle/Trash) stations conveniently located on each floor however, the problem is that they’re not being utilized correctly.
The solution? By removing the bins from every classroom, we are encouraging the proper separation of waste by using the labeled bins in the hallway. It’s easy and will make a large impact by:
1. Reducing waste accumulation will save money on trash-removal (So use REUSABLES! You'll receive a FREE cup of coffee on your 10th purchase from all dining retail locations)
2. An increase in recyclables will increase the amount earned on deposits (who doesn't like more money?!)
3. The abundance of compost collected earns Ithaca College “Carbon Credits” (offsets towards a cap-and-trade program) which will further promote the sustainability focus on campus
